The Con Docket scheduler
The Con Docket is a documentary channel about real American fraud cases, told from court records and public filings. It publishes a long-form video every week and short clips from it on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
The Con Docket scheduler is the tool the channel uses to publish those short videos on time. It runs the open-source scheduling software Postiz on a computer the channel controls.
What the app does
- Connects The Con Docket's own accounts on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, with the account owner's consent through each platform's official sign-in.
- Uploads the channel's own videos with their titles, captions and settings, and publishes them at the times the channel schedules.
- Reports whether each post was published and shows the connected account's name, picture and basic statistics, so the owner can check that the right account is connected.
Who uses it
Only the owner of The Con Docket. The app is not offered to the public: there is no sign-up, and no other person's account can be connected. Everything published through it is content the channel created.
How it uses your data
The app only reads and writes data of The Con Docket's own accounts, only to publish the channel's videos, and never sells or shares it. On YouTube it uses Google's YouTube Data API: its use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The details for every platform are in the Privacy Policy.
